Gray Puksand’s Melbourne studio is more than a workplace, it is a demonstration of how design can anticipate, adapt and advance. Self-designed and purpose-built, the two-level studio supports the architecture workforce of the future through spatial clarity, material intelligence and integrated functionality.

Tonal and material shifts subtly distinguish zones throughout the space, from focused work areas to communal breakouts. Within the kitchen and breakout areas, ZETR’s 13 / FLUSH outlets with CARBON faceplates are recessed into the speckled recycled-plastic splashback, appearing as seamless details within the workspace. “We love that the ZETR outlets provide essential functionality without negatively impacting the design, rather becoming a seamless detail that blends with and adds to the overall aesthetic," says Lauren Chan, Senior Interior Designer.
“ZETR offers a truly considered, thoughtful and integrated solution to the everyday object. As designers, when you love how a product looks and works, you will find creative ways to use it. That is a testament to ZETR.”

Across the studio, the integration of ZETR supports how the team works. 13 / FLUSH enables a fluid, flexible experience, where every outlet becomes an opportunity for connection. “The result of the ZETR outlets within our breakout spaces allow the whole team to have a fully agile experience throughout the entirety of the workspace. Meaning they can ‘plug and play’ wherever and whenever they need.” - Lauren Chan, Gray Puksand.
O'Brien sees this as part of a wider design philosophy that values both longevity and sensory experience. “Good design should engage all the senses, but in particular - first we see, then touch. I like to think about all these touch points as part of the design process, and this is where ZETR shines in enhancing the user experience. It is also a product designed to last, so this has sustainability design at its core.”
This is not a space that overstates. It listens. Designed to support people and built to endure, Gray Puksand’s studio expresses engineered restraint, minimal interruption and absolute intent - qualities mirrored by ZETR’s presence throughout.
